Hiking in Viñales Valley: A Walk Through Nature

    Viñales 5 hours

    About This Experience

Discover the natural beauty of Viñales Valley while directly supporting independent Cuban farmers and local entrepreneurs. This guided hiking experience is designed under the Support for the Cuban People category and focuses on meaningful interactions with members of the Cuban community, including private tobacco growers and coffee producers.

You will meet your local Cuban guide in front of the Viñales Church and begin your journey along the Palmarito Trail. Throughout the hike, you will engage directly with independent farmers and their families, gaining insight into their daily lives, traditions, and sustainable agricultural practices. Visits to privately owned tobacco and coffee farms provide an opportunity to learn about artisanal production methods, including traditional cigar-making, while supporting local livelihoods through direct interaction.

The experience continues through the valley to a natural lake, offering a relaxed setting to connect with Cuban locals and enjoy the surrounding landscape before returning to the starting point. This experience promotes cultural exchange and contributes directly to the local, non-state economy.
