Explore classic Havana while riding in an independently owned and operated American classic car.  You will have the opportunity to interact with your Cuban driver and car owner to discuss the process of private ownership of such a classic car in Cuba as well as discuss the community car club they are a member of which works to educate and preserve the individual time capsules.  The Cuban driver will take you to discover how the capital city of Havana grew from its colonial days into a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Named as one of the New7Wonders Cities of the World, this experience will show you why Havana has earned this title. You will have the opportunity to ride along the main avenues stopping at historic places such as Plaza de la Revolución and El Cementerio de Cristóbal Colón, a cemetery named after Christopher Columbus and noted by its beauty with architectural styles ranging from the Renaissance to Classical and Art Deco periods. Admire 5th Ave in the residential Miramar district with its beautiful mansions where most foreign embassies are located. Pass by ISA (Higher Institute of Arts), where you can admire modern architecture. Next, meet José Fuster, also known as the “Picasso of the Caribbean,” who has decorated his home and part of his neighborhood in Jaimanitas with a kaleidoscope of intricate mosaics and colorful sculptures. This extravagant stylized area is called Fusterlandia and reminds guests of Gaudí’s work in Spain.  You will have the opportunity to explore and interact with community members as you explore the area.  Following your art engagement continue to El Malecón, the famous waterfront promenade, passing by iconic places such as the Riviera Hotel, originally owned by notorious mobster, Meyer Lansky, and the classical Hotel National, which opened in 1930 and is considered a symbol of history, culture and Cuban identity. After, you will be returned to your pick up/drop off location.
