Vélo Cuba Women-Led Urban Mobility Community Program

This community-based urban mobility cycling program introduces participants to Vélo Cuba, the first cycling mobility initiative in Cuba and a project created and led by Cuban women. Through direct engagement with the project’s founders and staff, participants gain insight into how women-led entrepreneurship contributes to sustainable transportation, innovation, and community development in Havana.

The program follows a short cycling route connecting Vélo Cuba’s headquarters at Prado No. 20 with nearby public bicycle rental stations in Old Havana, providing an educational overview of urban mobility infrastructure and daily operations. When available, participants also learn about ongoing social initiatives supported by Vélo Cuba, highlighting how independent projects address local needs. A significant portion of the program’s revenue directly supports community projects benefiting children and individuals with limited resources.
