Starting April 6, 2022:

In correspondence with the international and national epidemiological situation of COVID-19 and the levels of immunization reached in the country, it has been decided to make the following modifications to the entry requirements to the country as part of the ‎‎International Health Control‎‎:

  • Eliminate as a requirement for entry to the country the presentation of a test for COVID-19 (Antigen Test or PCR-RT) taken in the country of origin, as well as the certificate of vaccination against COVID-19.
  • The sampling for SARS CoV-2 study (free) will be maintained randomly to travelers at the points of entry into the country, taking into account the number of flights, the entry of boats and the epidemiological risk represented by the country of origin.‎
  • If the sample taken at the point of entry tests Positive, the pertinent protocols approved in the country for the clinical-epidemiological control of COVID-19 will be followed.‎
  • All measures implemented at all points of entry into the country that guarantee social distancing, hand and surfaces disinfection will remain.‎
  • The mandatory use of the mask at all points of entry into the country will remain in place.‎

Effective December 6, 2021, all air passengers 2 years of age and older, regardless of vaccination or citizenship status, must show a negative COVID-19 test taken no more than 1 day before travel to the United States. The rapid test can be done upon departure at Havana Airport.

En correspondencia con la situación epidemiológica internacional y nacional de la COVID-19 y los niveles de inmunización alcanzados, se ha decidido realizar las siguientes modificaciones a los requisitos de entrada al país como parte del Control Sanitario Internacional.
De acuerdo con Francisco Durán García, director nacional de Epidemiología del Minsap, las medidas de flexibilización entrarán en vigor el 6 de abril.

  • Eliminar como requisito de entrada al país la presentación de una prueba para COVID-19 (Test de antígeno o PCR-RT) realizada en el país de origen, así como el certificado de vacunación anti-COVID-19.
  • Se mantendrá la toma de muestra para estudio de SARS CoV-2 (gratuito) de forma aleatoria a viajeros en los puntos de entrada al país, teniendo en cuenta la cantidad de vuelos, la entrada de embarcaciones y el riesgo epidemiológico que represente el país de origen.
  • De resultar positiva la muestra tomada en el punto de entrada se procederá según los protocolos aprobados en el país para el control clínico-epidemiológico de la COVID-19.
  • Se mantienen todos los flujos y medidas implementadas en todos los puntos de entrada al país que garantizan el distanciamiento social y la desinfección de las manos y superficies.
  • Se mantiene el uso obligatorio de la mascarilla en todos los puntos de entrada al país.

A partir del 6 de diciembre de 2021, todos los pasajeros aéreos de 2 años de edad en adelante, independientemente de su estado de vacunación o ciudadanía, deben mostrar un resultado negativo de la prueba de COVID-19 realizado no más de 1 día antes de viajar a los Estados Unidos. La prueba rápida se puede realizar a la salida en el Aeropuerto de La Habana.

  • Face masks are currently mandatory in all public area including transport. To protect yourself and others, we strongly advise to wash your hands with soap and dry with clean paper towel frequently as possible. You can also use an alcohol based hand sanitizer when outside. Avoid touching your face and keep 6ft distance from others. If you are using a reusable face mask, ensure to wash your face mask with soap between uses. Bring plenty of soap, hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes with you as these supplies may be limited in Cuba.
